Don't put me in your box.

I am reminded of this phrase often. Nobody wants to be put in the proverbial "box" or confined to a life of assimilation and conformity. I use this phrase lightly, more often than not, because we all get put in boxes, metaphorically speaking. A box could represent a job, an educational institution, or just a feeling of being misunderstood.

As a web designer, I find it ironic and amusing that I enjoy putting things in boxes. The web seems to be made up almost entirely of boxes, and it is my job to manipulate those boxes in a way that is organized and pleasing to look at. I guess boxes aren't so bad after all.

I'd consider myself a Front-End Developer. My skills are mostly in design. I have advanced experience with Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator. I also work with XHTML, CSS, and I have basic skills in Javascript, Action Script 3, and Adobe Flash. I can work in Windows, Linux, and Mac OS. I typically work in Notepad, but I have experience with Microsoft Expression Web as well.
